Ginger Tofu

Ginger Tofu

This vegetarian recipe from The Culinary Institute of America is a quick and easy, high-protein dish best served over rice or stir fry. The extra crispy seared tofu serves as the perfect base for this citrusy and savory glaze.


For the Tofu:
1 lb. (454 grams) Tofu, extra firm
2 Tbsp (30 mL) Soy Sauce
1-1/5 Tbsp (13.5 grams) Cornstarch
1 Tbsp (15 mL) Canola Oil

For the Sauce:
2 tsp (10 mL) Sesame Oil
1 each Ginger, 1" piece
1/2 cup (120 mL) Hoisin Sauce
1/2 cup (120 mL) Vegetable Stock
1/4 cup (60 mL) Orange Juice, fresh preferred
1-1/2 Tbsp (25 mL) Lime Juice, fresh preferred
1-1/2 Tbsp (25 mL) Lemon Juice, fresh preferred
2 each Scallions
Kosher Salt (as needed)
Black Pepper, freshly cracked (as needed)
